I am a New York area event and portrait photographer with a background in documentary photography and photojournalism. My diverse clientele includes arts institutions, colleges and the financial sector.

I became interested in photography as a teenager and in college began taking photographs for the student daily newspaper. There I learned the basics of covering assignments and collaborating with reporters and editors. After college, I studied at the International Center for Photography, and took workshops with Garry Winogrand and others. I got my start in the industry as a photographer's assistant, and logged a ton of hours in the darkroom as a black & white printer. Soon after, I began shooting freelance fashion and editorial assignments.

After working with film for many years, I began experimenting with digital cameras in the late 1990’s. By 2004, I had transitioned fully to digital imaging and haven’t looked back.

For the past five years, I’ve been using the iPhone for personal work. Apple’s evolving iPhone technology, combined with a multitude of photo apps, have only broadened my creative process. Many of these images appear on this site.
